The short version

Meditor works entirely without an account and without internet. What you meditate, how long each practice lasts and what you write in your notes is stored on your phone and does not leave it.

Three things do leave, and you can turn all three off: linking a Google account, seeing ads if you do not have Meditor Pro, and the report sent if the app closes on its own.

What stays on your phone

• Your streak, your practices, how long each one lasted and how you felt before and after.
• The notes you write at the end.
• Your settings: voice, volume, reminder, appearance.

None of this is sent anywhere on its own. If you delete the app, it goes with it.

If you link a Google account

Linking is optional and exists so you do not lose the streak when you change phones. When you do it, Google gives us your email address, your name and your profile picture, and an account is created in Firebase (the Google service we use for this).

With Meditor Pro, your progress is also copied to a private document in the cloud: only your account can read it. Without Pro nothing is uploaded: the account stays linked but the progress keeps living only on the phone.

You can delete the account and everything in the cloud from Settings, under "Delete my account". It is immediate and you do not need to write to anyone. What is on the phone is not touched.

Advertising

If you do not have Meditor Pro, an ad break from Google AdMob appears before some practices. To choose what to show you, Google may use your device's advertising identifier and approximate data such as the country or the type of phone.

Meditor does not pass Google what you meditate, how much you meditate or what you write in your notes. Ever.

On iPhone, before the first ad the app asks you first whether you allow tracking (Apple's dialog). If you say no, iOS gives no one the advertising identifier and the ads you see are not personalized; the app works the same.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, Google's consent form also appears before the first ad. What you choose there can be changed later from the same form.

With Meditor Pro there are no ads and none of this is loaded.

The purchase

Meditor Pro is charged through Google Play or the App Store, depending on the phone. The store handles payment end to end: we neither see nor store your card or your billing details. The only thing the app receives is a "yes, it is purchased".

If the app closes on its own

When Meditor closes without you asking it to, a report is sent to Firebase Crashlytics (another Google service) so it can be fixed. That report says at which point in the code the app fell over, your phone model, the Android version and the Meditor version, and an anonymous identifier for this installation.

Nothing you do in the app travels with it: not your practices, not your notes, not how you felt, not your email, not your name. And nothing is sent while the app is working properly.

It comes turned on because it is the only way we find out something broke: almost nobody writes an email to say so. You can turn it off in Settings → Data, "Tell us if the app closes on its own", and from that moment nothing more is sent.

What Meditor does not do

• It does not use the microphone or the camera.
• It does not ask for your location.
• It does not read your contacts, your photos or your files.
• It has no usage analytics: no one watches what you practice, how much or when. The only thing sent is the report above, and only if the app closes on its own.
• It does not sell or hand over your data to anyone.

Notifications

The daily reminder is built by your own phone at the time you chose. It goes through no server and there is no way for anyone to read it.

The voice

Spoken instructions come from your phone's speech synthesizer, or from recordings shipped inside the app. In neither case is anything sent to the internet.

Minors

Meditor is not intended for people under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone that age.

Changes

If any of this changes, this text changes too, and the date below gives it away. The version you are reading is the one that matches the version of the app you have installed.
